The Blue Mountain resort on the Blue Mountains in Colorado is the latest resort to open in the wake of a historic drought in the region, as well as the creation of a drought advisory.
“We are pleased to have made the announcement that the Blue Mountain Ski Resort is now officially open and open for business,” said Tom Schumacher, chief operating officer of the Blue mountain resort.
The resort opened in August of 2016, with plans to reopen in early 2017.
Schumacher says the resort is designed to offer both skiing and snowboarding in the snow and on ice, and the resort’s snowboard shop has been open since January of 2018.
Mountain West Conference Chair Jeff Masterson said in a press release that the resort will provide skiing and ice sports on its new hillside ski hill, as it has for several years.
More to come.
