What you should know about the Shawnee Mountains house that was home to two American tourists who disappeared in August 2017.
The home, located on the banks of the Shawna River in the US state of Utah, was used by local officials to host local businesses and recreational facilities.
The house was located near the trailhead for the US-Mexico border, and the couple were found dead in the backyard, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
The couple, Sean Toms, 30, and Jennifer Jones, 32, had been hiking for several weeks when they disappeared on August 4.
They were last seen by a passerby at a trailhead, and their bodies were found in the house on August 11.
Two days after their bodies and belongings were found, the couple’s bodies were recovered by an off-duty police officer who was at a nearby roadblock when they turned up dead, according to the newspaper.
The Salt Lake County coroner ruled that the couple had died of natural causes, and no foul play is suspected.
The investigation has been closed, but police have been investigating the case since the pair’s bodies and items were found.
